Rockland Fire Protection District
The Rockland Fire Protection District is the taxing body behind the Knollwood Fire Department. The FPD submits a tax levy request each year to the County; the County collects the funds and remits them to the FPD. These are the operating funds that the district has to work with.
The Fire Protection District is governed by a three-person Board of Trustees. Trustees are appointed by the president of the Lake County Board to three-year terms.
Fire Protection District meetings are held at the Fire Station. Meetings are usually on the second Monday of the month. The meetings are subject to the Open Meeting Act and are open to the public. See the 2016 meeting schedule.
